Most people arrived late at night - so the tents were a little randomly placed - with a small stream running through the middle !

It was inevitable that somebody found one of the many other small streams in the hours of darkness - Pete Staples and his Land Rover pulled him out in the morning.

Whilst waiting for breakfast, we engineered a flag pole for the Ruth's specially prepared NSC Club Flag, with the Swallows and Amazons flags either side.

Then its off to rig the boat and enjoy the weekend's sailing.

A few minor breakages, including Josh and Stephen who found it difficult to right their GP after cracking the centre board !

The weekend included a sail down to the other end of Lake Conniston, to the Island from the Swallows and Amazons book.

Here, everybody navigated the rocky approaches and crammed into the only small bay and had a 15 minute exploration of the island - leaving some of us to cling onto the boats !
